Welcome back to the spring term

Rising 4’s topic: Our topic this half term is “space” and we will be finding out about rockets, the moon and planets.

Rising 2’s/3’s topic: Our topic this half term is “in the jungle” and the children will be learning about the different animals that live in the jungle, particularly through songs, stories and small world play

Adventure Babies visit:  As part of our topics, each room will be having a visit from “Adventure Babies” for a wonderful sensory and interactive storytelling session.  The rising 4’s room will be enjoying a visit on 31st January during the morning session, and the rising 2’s/3’s room will be having a visit on 7th February during the morning session.

Supporting Learning at home: Children soak up every bit of stimulation you give them, and it can make a big difference to the development of their speech and understanding of words.  There are lots of everyday moments that can be used to boost your child’s learning, as they are interested in so many things!  A book, a magazine, even a shopping list – it all goes it.  Please go to for lots of simple tips and activities to support your child’s learning at home, or to find out what’s available in the area.

Rising 4’s bookbags:  Please remember to bring bookbags in for every session your child attends.

Sharing books at home: we have a selection of books in our ‘lending library’ box in our rising 2’s & 3’s lobby for you to borrow and read at home with your child. Just show a member of staff the book you have chosen and they will sign it out for you.

Fees: Please may we remind parents that fees are payable within 7 days from invoice date.  If you are experiencing difficulties, please speak with either Tracey or Lucy to arrange a payment plan.  Failure to comply will ultimately result in non-funded hours being cancelled.

Uniform: If you would like to purchase any uniform, this can be ordered through the preschool.  Just ask a member of staff.

Spare clothes / nappies: Please make sure your child comes to Pre-School with spare clothes (in a named bag please). If they are in nappies, please make sure you bring in a supply, together with wipes and creams.

Naming items: Please ensure all items are clearly named (clothes, lunchboxes, drinks bottles etc).

Emergency School Closure: If for any reason the school is closed (eg bad weather), a notification will be posted on the school website by 7.00am of that morning.  Please make sure you check before coming to preschool.  A notification will also be posted on the Interactive Learning Diary (ILD).
