A warm welcome back to school after the Christmas break.
The children have started their new topic for this term, which is ‘What’s In The Woods?’
This half term our English focus is on the story of Little Red Riding Hood, after we received a video message from Little Red Riding Hood warning us that the wolf had escaped from storyland! We have written warning posters to let the rest of the school know and will be keeping an eye out for any sign that the wolf has been near our school.
Little Red Riding Hood has asked that we keep her up to date with any news about the wolf and how we are getting on. We are going to find out about real wolves and will be writing our own fact files.

Our rainbow reader awards are continuing with many people now moving onto the star, ready to come back down the rainbow to the pot of gold. Remember that when you go down the rainbow you need to have read 20 times for each colour.
The children will continue to bring home spellings to learn every Monday ready for a test the following Monday.
They will also continue to get maths facts homework every Friday, ready for a test the following Friday. Please support your child in learning these.
We will be starting up a Lending Library where the children can borrow a picture story book to share at home with you. They will be able to choose a new book on Fridays, so please make sure they have their borrowed book with them each Friday. We hope to have our first library session on Friday 19th January.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to come and see us in class.
Miss Wellum and Miss Marsh.
