30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time (38 weeks) plus 2 paid weeks to cover school holiday duties and Inset days.

Grade 13 (£17,772 – £20,138 FTE), Actual salary £12,545 -£14,215 (£9.21 – £10.43 per hour)

We are looking to appoint a highly skilled and competent ICT Technician to manage our computer systems, ICT suite and classroom provisions. You will have a good command and understanding of ‘IT world’ and be able to keep the school at the forefront of technology.

The successful applicant will have a computer based background either through qualifications, previous jobs and / or passion. They will also need to be able to work effectively within a strong school staff team as well as with children aged 4-11 years.

We would be particularly interested to hear from you if you also have a music or sporting ability.

Cross County Event – 27 September 2017


We have our first cross country event this year on Wednesday 27 September at Yeovil Rugby Club from 4 pm – 5.30 pm.  We hope all the children have an enjoyable time.


Football Competition – 25 September 2017


Our footballers are taking part in their first event this year at Bucklers Mead on Monday 25 September from 12 noon – 4 pm.  We hope they have a good time.

Job vacancy: Full time Year 3 Teacher, fixed term initially…..


We are looking to appoint a full time Year 3 teacher, this is a fixed term post for one year in the first instance, however does have the potential to become permanent position.

Job vacancy: SEN Learning Support Assistant……


8.30am – 3.30pm – 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays – 18 hours per week, plus 1.5 hours lunchtime cover)

LSA Grade 15: £15,375 – £16,491 pro rata (£7.96 – £8.54 per hour)

Lunchtime Grade 16: £15,115-£15,246 pro rata (£7.83 – £7.90 per hour)

Permanent position

Birchfield Primary School requires a SEN Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with children in KS2. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience of working with individual(s) with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder, however training will be provided.

The successful candidate will:

  • help adapt the curriculum for the pupil,
  • carry out 1:1 intervention programmes,
  • track and monitoring progress for the individual
  • work closely with the class teacher, parents, SENCO and on occasions professionals from external agencies
  • display a range of attributes including personal organisation, initiative, enthusiasm and a caring nature

The person appointed would be expected to work collaboratively with the SENCO along with many other members of staff and will be fully supported in the day to day role.

Individual and Family Group Photographs


Our school photographer will be visiting us on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 September 2017 to take individual and family group photographs.  The family group photographs will be of children who attend our school and those who have siblings in our Pre-School.
