Birchfield Pre-School occupies a purpose built building with an enclosed garden within the grounds of Birchfield Community Primary School.
We accept Nursery Education Grant funding for 2 & 3 year olds. Tel: 01935 429986.

The following are some of the apps used in preschool (unfortunately they are not all free):

Writing Wizard – helps children practice writing numbers, letters and shapes and develop their fine motor control.
Montessori Numberland – Maths games to develop counting skills and number recognition.
Doodle Maths: Numbers – Maths games to develop skills including counting, ordering by size, number recognition, writing numerals and early addition/subtraction.
Doodle Maths: Shapes – Maths games to develop an understanding of shapes.

Fully Trained Staff

All our staff are qualified childcare professionals and the Pre-School Manager holds qualified teacher status (early years). All staff are trained in paediatric first aid and regularly attend other courses to update their practice.

Children benefit from a friendly atmosphere where staff focus on developing activities to meet the needs of each child and that respond to their interests.

Safe and Secure

The Pre-School is set within the secure grounds of Birchfield Primary School with entry to the site via an intercom system. Equipment and resources are carefully selected and are age appropriate.

Healthy and Tasty Snacks

A healthy snack is provided during the morning and afternoon sessions. Parents need to provide a healthy packed lunch, or order a hot school meal, if their child is staying for lunch.

Opening Times

We are open from Monday to Friday from
8.00 until 4.00.

Preparing for School

The Early Years Foundation Stage covers the period from birth until the end of the Reception Year at school. Birchfield Pre-School provides a range of play activities which help children progress through the Early Years Foundation Stage.
